Misty autumn morning by my school

Last week There was a morning where a thick mist wrapped the whole town and lasted well into the early day. Before 8 a.m. you wouldn't have seen Jack the Ripper until he was right next to you, closer to lunch it was still lingering, just slightly softening the gray contours of this fall day.

My faculty is surrounded by a park, called "The English Park" on one side and the old graveyard on the other side. This is part of The English Park, on my way to class.

The autumn colors are still pretty striking...

After classes there was just a soft hint of the fog left

It's a nice but crowded old cemetery where they have ghost walks sometimes, during cultural events.

Normally I miss the US on the rare occasion that I'm away from there in Halloween times, this year is no exception, but a few things make it more bearable, the pretty fall colors for one thing, and the fact that I'm going to a Halloween party at an old friend's house on Saturday. Also, this weekend I'm going to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] tommdroid and [livejournal.com profile] prettyochpink, which feels great, since I haven't seen them in a year.

I'm a little happy, a little grateful a little melancholic and a little reflective these days, which fits the times I suppose...
Come spring I'll probably kick some things to the curb, but right now I'm letting it linger and processing it.

Very beautiful photos!

Lovely pictures!

The other day, one of my neighbours was complaining about the "mess" in our street caused by all the leaves. If there's one thing I like about the autumn, it's the colours and the leaves everywhere...

Wow, the shot with the leaves all over the bench is particularly good.

That's where you live and go to school?

Every day?

Damn — how can you even look out the window without being stunned by how beautiful that all is?

Oh, I would spend all my time in that
graveyard and not going to class! What
beautiful fog and tree colours!

I saw Glögg at the store the other day,
and thought of you.

Oh! I love it. It makes me want to curl up in a window seat with a calico cat and drink tea.

bewitching, in an honest and sincere way.

Those are gorgeous photos! I love the fall colors, the "old world" feel of the buildings and gardens, and the cemetary is lovely! I look forward to more photos!

The fog and the foliage are just beautiful--much like we have them here in New England, but somehow more special to see them in another setting. (Plus I no longer live or work on a university campus, so I don't get the sense of quiet space.)

And just for the trivia, any special story to why it's called the "English Park"?

Lovely! ...well, except for the idea of Jack the Ripper lurking about. ;)

I hope you have a wonderful Halloween.
