Misty autumn morning by my school

Last week There was a morning where a thick mist wrapped the whole town and lasted well into the early day. Before 8 a.m. you wouldn't have seen Jack the Ripper until he was right next to you, closer to lunch it was still lingering, just slightly softening the gray contours of this fall day.
The view from the balcony of the house I currently live in, in the morning

My faculty is surrounded by a park, called "The English Park" on one side and the old graveyard on the other side. This is part of The English Park, on my way to class.

Part of the university, on my morning walk to class

The autumn colors are still pretty striking...

Girl with guitar in morning mist

In spring and summer students often hang out and study here...

The building my faculty is in

After classes there was just a soft hint of the fog left

The old cemetery, which flanks the arts, sociology and language faculties from one side

A glimpse of the mausoleum

It's a nice but crowded old cemetery where they have ghost walks sometimes, during cultural events.

Normally I miss the US on the rare occasion that I'm away from there in Halloween times, this year is no exception, but a few things make it more bearable, the pretty fall colors for one thing, and the fact that I'm going to a Halloween party at an old friend's house on Saturday. Also, this weekend I'm going to hang out with
tommdroid and
prettyochpink, which feels great, since I haven't seen them in a year.
I'm a little happy, a little grateful a little melancholic and a little reflective these days, which fits the times I suppose...
Come spring I'll probably kick some things to the curb, but right now I'm letting it linger and processing it.

Date: 2009-10-28 09:46 am (UTC)The other day, one of my neighbours was complaining about the "mess" in our street caused by all the leaves. If there's one thing I like about the autumn, it's the colours and the leaves everywhere...
Love that icon!

Date: 2009-10-28 01:05 pm (UTC)aah, glögg...I'm looking forward to that, the glögg season starts soon. If that was alcohol free glögg in the store(which it often is in the US), then just spike it with a bit of wine or vodka!

no subject
Date: 2009-10-28 03:31 pm (UTC)It is also called the Carolina park (because it is located behind the university library - Carolina Rediviva), but everyone and their dog always called it "The English Park" and nowadays the language and arts faculty campus is named after this version of the name.
