worries...
Mar. 25th, 2003 10:17 am*The War
To call this a worry is a big understatement. I feel powerless and sick, like so many others. How can the equality of all people be so easily forgotten - in every day life and in the world?
northernveil said something really basic but also brilliant the other day: No matter how special or fantastic you are, you are never worth more than any other person. Now, this was said about something totally different (someone hitting on someone else's partner I think..)and the thought certainly isn't new, but from her I sometimes get reality flashes, because I can see that she fully grasps it in the common, every day sense of it, and she tries, and makes (in my opinion) an ok job by living it. How often do I in a practical, every day sense grasp the concept of equality?
*My yahoo disconnected me at some point during the night, claiming that someone else had logged on with my username from another computer!!! Ok, this is not the war, but it sure worries me! I'm logged on now again, without any troubles, but I wonder, could Yahoo just have made a mistake? (I mean..who else could know my pw??) And then
lindis wrote to me saying that my comments to her post had not turned up in her mail...Honey, what do you mean by that? Are there any more comments from "me" somewhere on LJ since the one cheering you up with potential virtual chocolate and shit-talk during the lunch hours yesterday? I have had no time to write anything more since then, so there shouldn't be... Anyone had a similar experience ever?
*I need a book that's out of print. I have it in swedish, but I really would need to have it in english. It is Tanith Lees Red as Blood - Tales from the Grimmer Sisters a collection of short stories from -81 (I think).
zombienought (who is a Lee fan and might know others that are) or any other LJ friend, do you have this book or know where I could get/borrow it? The price is of no importance, I could be content with copied pages, at least of the title story. Yes, I know I could check out amazon...but to buy vintage books from them, I'd have to let them deliver it to a friend in the US first, since they don't deliver vintage stuff across the big pond...(besides, it takes at least two weeks). My only other decent option is checking out british used book sites on the net. Anyway, I'll gladly PAY, the price doesn't matter, and there will be immense Seal gratitude, and perhaps I could dig something out from over here that someone else needs.
Well...positive things to note are: my right side is oh so slowly getting better (even though I can't sleep on it yet), the sun is shining and yesterday when I made a comment on someone else's comment in my LJ post about whores, bores and prostitutes I made a quote as well, and I finally remembered from what film it was!!!
Ordinary fucking people...I hate them!
It's from the old cult classic HARDWARE goddammit! WHOOO...I'm very smug about this.
I'll just have to remember that their fucking ordinary asses are worth as much as my precious smug one.
