About the Penis
Jun. 12th, 2008 09:34 pmFrankly, one of the things that baffles me most about the US is the big circumcision war.
Now..if circumcision is done right, I have no doubt that it's not harmful..but the HUGE HUGE discussion about it being so GOOD for the kid, and presenting the uncut man with a normal foreskin as some suspect unfortunate individual with troublesome hygiene habits STINKS of cultural politics, fear of the unknown and guilt.
All Swedish men I've been with have been uncut. A vast majority of European men are uncut. All my real life male friends are uncut. Please rise up, uncut men, and explain that it's normal, it's not a hassle, you can shower normally, make a quick checkup of the little guy, and he's as clean as his cut peers.
And the sex is GREAT.
I would have sex with a cut guy I was dating, of course, but I'm so happy that the Geek's mom let him keep his forseskin, because I just like them. A LOT!
Let it be shouted from the rooftops...
I ♥ THE PREPUCE OF THE PENIS!
(but I don't mind the cropped penis, and I'm not trying to start a war or to insult anyone..it's just that the whole questioning of the values of the GORGEOUS uncut penis is getting too surreal and idiotic for me)
ETA: It can not be said often enough that I don't think it's bad parenting to circumcise your boy...but two reasons made me even write this post. One reason was the ignorant remarks about uncut men in another post, and the other was the way I see people on this continent shy away from even the mere thought of it being a cultural (or cultural/religious) habit, and creating it to be a sanitary or even medical one.
I don't think a comparison to female circumcision is applicable in any way..but if hypothetically doctors would come up with a safe way of removing little girls' hair glands in the genital and armpit area, that might be a better comparison. Except that the foreskin does more good than the hair does.
