Back on line and thoughtful

I just talked to Hakan, a good acquaintance of mine and also a very good doctor of physics within a quite narrow, rare and important field of expertise. He has been to the States many times and contemplated moving there for some years to work (several places would take him within the blink of an eye), surfing in Cali or skiing in Colorado are attractive options for him...but, now he said that if the current administration is re elected he will not go. The correct quotation from him would be: I don't want to give my knowledge and expertise to a country so divided both from within, from Europe and several parts of the rest of the world, and so blind to how it is viewed from outside of their own back yard.

He is by the way not a socialist like me. He is right wing.
