The ending of an era...
Jul. 10th, 2003 11:59 pmI don't know how sane it is to be excited about home repairs and improvements..but I am.
Went to my old apartment today (the one I'm renting out to my friend Leif), and hanged there with Sofia, Morten, B-man and Leif. Me and Sofia took square meter measurements, so that I'll have all the facts when I call different firms tomorrow and check the costs for sanding the floors. Yay..I can afford to do that, and it will give me and even better price for it in August.
This apartment has lovely honey colored oak floors in the living room and hallway, and redwood in the kitchen, dining room and bedroom..when it's done..it will be like walking on hard glossy sunshine!
Also we planned painting two rooms in brighter colors, and tomorrow Sofia and I are gonna go buy paint, and this weekend we'll start by painting the cupboard doors in the kitchen.
I have great friends!! And it'll be fun doing it!!
(and then I'll sell it..how disturbed is that..but still..)
I'll buy several bag in boxes with wine, and some nice food, and friday the 25th of July we'll start during the day and evening with the painting. Saturday will be off, but sunday will be painting day too. Enough ppl will probably show, so that it'll only take a couple of hours..and a feast after (friday, food and wine, sunday - beer, more food..and cake!!)
Any LJ friends in my home area that want to come are more than welcome (I'll ask you in person anyway ;) )
Those not in the neighborhood are of course welcome too..and would probably get some special treats out of sheer surprise on my part.
I had some good times in that place, but it's not my home anymore, time to move on, and good to do it with fresh improvements, good friends and a feast!
