I love to hear what triggers people! For some reason my triggers seem a bit the opposite of yours, which fascinates me.

i'm pretty amazed that the majority is afraid of females and children. essentially.

like what's a kid gonna do? put a booger on you? just punt it across the room!

yeah but the female thing just happens to be female in the movies. Freaky movement can really be done by ANYTHING, & is thus to be feared.

i can understand the freaky movement turn off.
this is why i hate geckos, but love most other reptiles. why do they have to act so SPASTIC?

I HATE GECKOS TOO. We got one in our house last spring. Catching it was horrible - Chris wanted to kill me. We'd corner the damn thing & then it would RUN AT ME and I would scream like an infant & involuntarily do that standing-fetal-position-with-one-leg thing, and it would get by me.

For me to be afraid of kids, they have to be very unnatural and creepy (and well played), I think it's the discrepancy between how sweet looking they can be in real life and how they violate that image in certain movies.

The woman thing is, like abeah said, not so much the gender...as how these type of creatures (who in Asian movies are often ghosts of murdered women, but I've seen it with a few males as well), how these creatures move, it's a very visceral visual effect.
